2025 is not an ordinary year for me. It has a fair share of ups and downs.
Below are the things that life has taught me this year:
- Be grateful
- The first half of 2025 were full of moments that I wanted to give up because I don’t see that my life is moving to where I wanted it to be. But when God intervenes, he surprises you in ways that you cannot imagine that would happen. Sometimes, the best way is to let God take the driver seat of your season. You may not see what and why ii is happening, but based on my experience, it will be worth it.
- Leadership
- Over the past month, leadership played a big role in my career. Whilst enjoying the new season of work that God has given me, I was faced with another transition that I never knew that would happen. After being transferred to a new department, I was left with the responsibility to train new joiners in the as a new senior member in the department that I am assigned to. This new responsibility allowed me to exercise the leadership in me, the lessons I have learned corporately and personally. With this responsibility comes the trust that my manager has given me to look after the team in the department.
- At your own pace
- I’m a type of person who sometime wanted to rush things, but ended up frustrated because the outcome is not the way I wanted it to be. And I learned this year that sometimes, God is breaking you not to harm you, but to realign yourself to His purpose. God sees the bigger picture of your season. In as much as I wanted to know what will come, but running at your own pace allows you to cherish the season, absorb everything that God is teaching you and to be a man after His own heart.
There will be moments in our lives that we feel like it does not make sense and I can attest to that, with everything that I have experienced this year. These moments can make or break us. But as a person who learned to look into situations with a silver lining, I am excited on how God will move into my life for 2026. Let me end this with a verse from the book of Romans: “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” (Romans 12:12 ESV)
